This Horse Stall and Equipment Barn in Salida, Colorado, was designed for the owners by Coffman Barns, and manufactured by FCP Barns and Buildings, in partnership with Coffman Barns authorized dealer. The FCP Gable barn was engineered with the area’s demanding weather conditions in mind, including heavy snow and wind loads.

The result is a versatile agricultural building that combines dedicated horse stalls, a foaling area, tack and grooming space, hay storage, equipment storage, and covered exterior areas.

Salida and the surrounding Colorado region can experience significant winter weather, making structural planning especially important for a barn that will be used year-round.

This Horse Stall and Equipment Barn was engineered for heavy snow and wind loads common to the area. The design incorporates additional structural support and practical weather-management features to help make the building more functional in changing conditions.

Fillers were added at the eaves to improve climate control and help retain warmth during the winter months. The large covered porch overhangs also provide protection from the elements while creating useful sheltered areas around the barn.
