Phoenix Zoo Barn and Arena
Phoenix Zoo Barn (32 Stall Barn) and Covered Arena Project
Randy Coffman (Coffman Barns) is proud to have been a part of the Phoenix Zoo Barn equine project. The MD Barnmaster barn features a 168′ x 85′ double 12′ cross breezeways, large 16′ x 12′ stalls, a large 28′ X 36′ open area for tour gathering and entry control area for Schools and other groups, and multiple feed, tack, wash and grooming bays. The 100′ x 150′ covered arena was manufactured and supplied by Bunger Steel.
The entire Phoenix Zoo barn and arena project was mostly built by donated monies from the Thunderbirds and was an collective community effort whereas many businesses donated their time and labor plus machinery for grading, excavation and even for the concrete foundations. Most of the work was completed during night shifts. Randy Coffman, Owner of Coffman Barns, donated his time to supervise the installation of the foundations and worked there many nights thru morning.
About 3 years later, Randy was a member of the McDowell Mountain Mounted Sheriff’s Posse and in-conjunction with the members of the Maricopa County Southside Mounted Sheriff’s, they donated their labor to install all the pavers in the double crossway breezeways in the Pheonix Zoo barn. Refer to the recognition plaque for their name’s listed under donors of $10,000.00-$49,999.00!!
